PARENTS' RIGHTS UNDER TITLE 1, PART A

Parental Notice of Rights:

- Parents have the right to know the level of achievement and academic growth of their child.

- Parents have the right to receive timely notice if their child has been assigned to, or taught, for 4 or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who does not meet applicable state certification or licensure requirements for the grade level being taught. This notification will come from the school as an email and letter home.

- Parents have the right to timely information about our Title I programs and if a parent requests, shall receive regular meetings to provide suggestions and to participate (as appropriate) in decisions relating to teh education of their children.

- Parents have the right to receive a description and explanation of the curriculum and assessments being used to measure student progress.

- Parents have the right to be part of Valley Academy's parent review committee. This committee is involved in the school improvement and the school curriculum.

- Parents have the right to be part of the development and review of Valley's School-Parent-Family Engagement Policy.

- Parents have the right to have public access and notification of Valley's annual report card from the state level each year (see below).

- Parents have the right to request the professional qualifications of their child's teachers, i.e., whether state licensed, whether teaching under emergency or provisional status, and whether teaching in the discipline of certification.

- Parents have the right to request information on whether their child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.

English Language Learners

- Parents have the right to have involvement in their children’s’ education and to participate in regular meetings.

- Parents have the right to participate in language instruction educational programs. This includes reasons for identification, methods, or instruction, and how Valley’s programs will help your child meet proficiency standards.

2023-2024 School Report Card
